Jimmie Spheeris: Age 34 | Cause Of Death: MOTORCYCLEE

Jimmie Spheeris

(b. 5 Nov 19 49, d. 4 July 1984)

In 1971 his first album, Isle Of View, was released – and quickly became popular with early underground rock stations… In 1972 Jimmie’s second album, The Original Tap Dancing Kid, was released. The album was produced by Felix Cavilar… It was in Venice that Jimmie began writing the songs which became his fourth album, Ports Of The Heart. This was a time of extensive touring…After touring with The Moody Blues for a few years, on the night he finished the last mix for his fifth (and still unreleased) album, Jimmie Spheeris died on July 4, 1984, in Venice Beach. A drunk driver ran a stop sign a few blocks from Jimmie’s home, and collided with Jimmie’s motorcycle. ~Johnny Pierce, CEO, Rain Records
