Fuller Up, The Dead Musician Directory

Cerebral
Hemorrhage
Nico: Nico Videos DVDs and CDs b. Christa Paffgen (Pavolsky), 16 Oct. 1938, Cologne, Germany, d. 18 July 1988, Ibiza, Spain. Known to the music world as the chanteuse of Andy Warhol and The Velvet Underground fame, Nico's celebrity begins with her being introduced to a European social set which included film director Federico Fellini. Nico began an acting career with a memorable appearance in LA DOLCE VITA. Later, after her star had faded, signs of an artistic revival followed treatment for drug addiction, but this unique artist died in Ibiza on 18 July 1988, after suffering a cerebral hemorrhage while cycling in intense heat. Another perspective: For one whose life was bedecked with musty glamour, Nico died an absurdly ungracious death. While holidaying in Ibiza in 1988, she fell off her push-bike, and later died in hospital from a brain hemorrhage. No one knew who she was just another junkie looking for drugs in the sun. ~Pat Gilbert, Record Collector. |
Sandy Denny: Sandy Denny --Amazon Alexandra Elene Maclean Denny, b. 6 Jan 1947, Wimbledon, London, d. 21 April 1978, London. A former student at Kingston Art College where her contemporaries included John Renbourn and Jimmy Page, Sandy Denny forged her early reputation in London folk clubs. Following a fall down the staircase at a friend's house Sandy died from a cerebral hemorrhage on 21 April 1978. Added 3-13-99:
There are plenty of online colleges to study more about cerebral hemorrhage. |
Django Reinhardt: Django -- Amazon Jean Baptiste Reinhardt, b. 23 January 1910, Liberchies, Belgium, d. 16 May 1953. Following serious injuries which he suffered in a caravan
fire in 1928 he lost the use of two fingers on his left hand. To overcome this handicap,
he devised a unique method of fingering and soon embarked on a solo
career in Parisian
clubs. His remarkable playing caused a sensation and it is not an exaggeration to
state that he was the first non-American to make an impact upon jazz and become an
important influence upon the development of the music. Reinhardt died of a brain
hemorrhage in 1953. |
Jeffrey Lee Pierce: Born 1958 Died 3-31-1996 Tribal, psychobilly blues is the best way to
describe Gun Club's energetic death rock, but the band's career seemed doomed from
the get-go due to leader Jeffrey Lee Pierce's reputation as an unreliable wildman, and
well-publicized bouts of drunkenness dogged him throughout his career. Formed in Los
Angeles in the early '80s, the band were vaguely aligned with similarly roots inspired
groups like X and the Blasters, but later picked up and relocated to the Lower Eastside,
resting more comfortably around the New York, downtown set and Pierce's mentors, Debbie
Harry and Chris Stein...In 1996, after drying-out, but suffering from persistent
health problems, Pierce passed away from a brain hemorrhage. ~AMG

Stuart Sutcliffe: b.23 June 1940 d.10 April 1962 Stuart Sutcliffe was born in Edinburgh,
Scotland, on June 23, 1940. At 19, Stu was regarded as one of the most talented and
promising students at the Liverpool Art College, when he met fellow art student John
Lennon... When Stu sold a painting in 1959 for £65, an unheard-of sum for a student's
painting in those days, John convinced him to buy a bass guitar and join the band, never
mind that he couldn't play...In Liverpool, violence was common at the shows they played
at, and one night, after a show at Litherland Town Hall in the north of Liverpool, the
Silver Beatles were ambushed as they made their way out into the car park to their van. In
the fight, Stu went down and was kicked in the head. Later at home, still bleeding from
the gash in his head, he refused to let his mother call a doctor.
