            Saxophonist Alvin "Red" Tyler is known to R&B historians as a member of the legendary New
            Orleans rhythm section that played on hit records by Little Richard and countless others. It was a
            surprise to the jazz world, then, to hear another side of Red on this album of exquisite modern
            jazz compositions (almost all written by Red for this recording), supported by a band of many of
            the best players in New Orleans. Johnny Adams' vocal on "I'll Only Miss Her When I Think of
            Her" is a perennial radio favorite.
